+ADAPTING CITIES
NOVEMBER 2018
Vol. II, Issue 1
The Insurance + Adapting Cities report set out to
investigate the role the insurance industry is playing in helping cities manage disaster risk.

Contributors will address how climate breakdown is affecting the insurance business, discuss whether necessary measures are being taken to protect coastal cities from extreme weather events and highlight the costs associated with resilience, adaptation, and retreat.

The risk gurus of our economy - the insurance industry have said that if we go into 2'C, we will find ourselves in a world that is systematically uninsurable. With insurance claims stacking up into the millions and sea-level rise threatening coastal cities across the globe, the pressure's on to establish successful partnerships between local governments and private insurance.
